    Non-profit organizations and rural communities have always been a passion of Judy's, thus immersing her in the world of rural community economic development. She has been a member of the Community Futures family since 1995 and a community volunteer for her entire adult life. This extensive experience has provided an excellent training ground for non-profit board development. 



    Judy currently instructs, not only for the CFBD and CFPD programs, but for Mount Royal University and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in their business departments. Having well over 20 years experience training and facilitating groups, Judy believes that adults must have fun to learn. You will, no doubt, enjoy her style and learn at the same time.

    With over 16 years working for Community Futures, Leona’s passion for the program and the diversity of each individual region served grows. As Executive Director of SMEDA which serves the Grande Prairie Region in Northwest Alberta, her experiences span from administration/business analysis to project management and human resources. Combine this with counseling and program development and you will find that Leona brings a wide perspective on a variety of topics.

    Leona’s experience as a trainer and facilitator dates back to the early 90’s. She thoroughly enjoys interaction while working with community groups. It can be said that she truly enjoys working with people, with words such as ”good listener” and ”open learning” being used by past participants. Leona likes to create a relaxed/fun learning environment where even if the content is ”heavy”, participants walk away with renewed knowledge and a smile on their face.

    Terri Parent is an experienced workshop and training facilitator recognized for her ability to translate theoretical business concepts into practical, easy-to-implement techniques.

    She has received formal training in Adult Education and has both developed and facilitated training workshops on a wide variety of topics, including a Certified Small Business Counseling course for the Acadia University’s Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship, Human Resources Management series to mention a few.

    Terri is an entrepreneur, operating her own business that offers business training solutions. She is an APEC International Certified Small Business Counselor with both hands-on and theoretical expertise in all aspects of entrepreneurship and small business management.

    Steve Lupky

    Steve Lupky has been involved in community leadership and economic development in Manitoba for almost two decades, and is a strong supporter of Community Futures in Canada. His vast array of experiences and grass roots involvement provides a unique perspective to share.

    Steve served as a town councilor and Deputy Mayor of Arborg, Manitoba for 18 years, and was involved in numerous local, regional and provincial boards and organizations. In 1998 Steve was elected to the Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM) as the Interlake Urban Director. Steve is proud of his time on the board of directors of Community Futures East Interlake (CFEI), where he served 3 terms as chair. Steve looks forward to sharing his experiences and passion for Community Futures, along with his own learning and personal growth from every participant he has the privilege of working with.
